ÉTUDIANTE 11 : Rose-Marie Côté
Freeze-drying is an energy intensive and complex process, involving 3 successive stages. Many factors affect the quality of the final products, but it is very difficult to understand their combined effects. Furthermore, in a pharmaceutical Quality by Design context, product quality needs to be integrated into the production process, and not just tested at the end of manufacturing.
This internship is part of a project aimed at optimizing the freeze-drying process for pharmaceutical products by combining the massive acquisition of freeze dried data using analytical and numerical techniques, and their interpretation using artificial intelligence techniques. Using machine learning algorithms, the project aims to develop models able of predicting finished product properties as a function of operating conditions, generating optimiz ed sets of operating parameters to anticipate results and minimize experimental trials, and recommending formulations in line with attribute specifications.
The aim of this incoming mobility is also to consolidate the partnership between the 2 international laboratories with a view to a larger scale project (ANR PRCI).
